A Windy night, and the Damage

We had a very windy night last night! One of the windiest I can ever remember. We even lost our power. Stuff was hitting the roof and I wished we had cut down the dead ash tree next to our house sooner. One large branch ended up going through our roof, but it could have been much worse. It turned out that the ash had been cabled many years ago to the strong oak tree and this helped keep the tree from landing on Isaac's room. Sometimes we need someone to lean on.
Notice the top arrow is the broken tree leaning on the oak! The bottom arrow is the branch embedded in the roof.
The tree trimmers came and took care of it all.
It is sad to have lost so many ash trees. The little ash borers from China wiped out 3 beautiful trees in our yard. The trade ship that brought the beetles, along with other goods, came at a very high price.
