Today in the garden: white asters, nasturtiums, woodpecker holes

White asters are very plentiful this year...more than I have ever seen before. I love asters because they are so plentiful, like and explosion on each stem.
The colors have begun to turn color this week.  The change starts at the top and works its way down.
The garden if finishing up.  We haven't had a frost yet.

I still have carrots, chard, butternut squash and basil left in the garden and lots of green tomatoes.  Anyone have an idea for green tomatoes that they like?

Woodpeckers love the dead ash outside our bedroom.  I catch a couple birds flying out at the same time once in a while.
