Putting the garden away for the fall

Dan chopped up leaves and grass in the mower to lay on top of the beds.  How wonderful that nature provides for everything we need. All we need to do is look around us.

I have lots of compost bins and straw for the walkways.  The asparagus fronds are very prolific.

These are some wonderful squash that I got at the last day of the farm market last week.  The insides are very dark and rich.  I saved the seeds to plant next year.  I saved more seeds this year than I ever have before.
I will miss the garden for the winter. Luckily I can still make sauerkraut and many kinds of sprouts.  Also put my amaryllis in the pots today.
